I stumbled across a new artist the other day without buying OR downloading anything.
I literally found the CD on a bookshelf in Cambridge - it's being ghost marketed, something I havn't seen or heard much about in donkey's years but I think it's genuinely a great way to get started in the industry today - epsecially if you have talent enough for people to like what they find.
The way this has worked for me is that I now have a properly designed, nicely set out and exclusive (number 184 of 250) CD - for free. I havn't downloaded anything, I havn't had to go out and buy it and I now want to go out and get more of her stuff. I think you need the talent for it to work, I stuck the CD in and was instantly hooked on her sound and went ahead with researching more of her stuff - without the talent I wouldn't bother going ahead with reporting back online. Basically I have a free single!
If you're interested to find out more about this fresh approach to marketing a new artist check out her sites at
